Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University
in cooperation with Ivan Franko National University of Lviv
will be held on 10 - 20 August, 2019 in the recreation center "The Mountain Fairy Tale" Pidzakharychi village, Chernivtsi region, Ukraine.
The Summer School is a traditional conference for mathematicians working in diverse areas of Abstract Analysis, Topology, Algebra and related fields. The aim of the School is to support talented students and post-graduates who are interested in fundamental mathematical research and to supply them with the newest information concerning the current status of research in these fields. Questions and discussions are welcome and there is plenty of space for them outside of the talks.
The mornings will be devoted to lectures on topics of general interest;
In the afternoons the younger participants will present short talks on their scientific research;
The evenings will be devoted to sports and active recreation on the air;
There will also be an opportunity for open discussions between students and lecturers and organizing special seminars.
We are glad to inform you that since May 2019 the category "B" has been assigned to the journal "Proceedings of the international geometry center". November 16, 2018, Kyiv Mathematical Colloquium organized by Institute of Mathematics of National Academy of Sciences, Kyiv Mathematical Society, Kyiv Academic University (KAU), Junion Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Ukrainian Mathematical Society.Speaker: Petro Ilyash, 11 class, Liceum 208, Kyiv
Title: Rendezvous number of a compact connected metric space
Supervisor: Ph.D. Tymoshkevych T. D.
Venue: Institute of Mathematics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, st. Tereshchenkovskaya, 3, room. 305
Petro independently proved a rather nontrivial fact that was estabilshed in 1964 by O. Gross using game theory about the existence of the so-called "rendezvous number" defined for all connected compact metric spaces.
The purpose of the meeting is, in particular, to attract future scholars - now students, and in the future - students and postgraduates, to scientific activity.
Students of mathematical schools, lyceums, students, post-graduate students, scientists, as well as teachers of higher educational institutions, who take care of the scientific education of schoolchildren, are invited to the meeting of the Kiev Mathematical Colloquium, all who are ready to join and promote the growth of talented young people and their involvement in scientific work in the field of mathematics, as well as all those who are interested in mathematics.
